Recently finished up a farmhouse table for my girlfriends new apartment. It's made from Douglas fir and pine wood purchased at the local home depot. Wanted to go with a nice hardwood tabletop but that would have doubled the total price.
We used the plans from the following website. But substituted 4 2x10 boards for the tabletop instead of the concrete tabletop. Also shortened the table and bench to only be 5 ft long.
